With an unwavering commitment to assisting others, Desley consistently strives to exceed expectations, whether within the professional sphere or in her personal interactions. Her dedication to making a positive impact reflects her genuine passion for enhancing the lives of those she encounters.
Desley resides on the Sunshine Coast in the company of her husband, Andrew, and their two beloved children. Beyond her dedicated interest in reading tax legislation, Desley derives great joy from cherishing moments with friends and family amidst the breathtaking backdrop of this exquisite region.
You will often see Desley putting he hand up to volunteer her time, be it coaching netball, to running the BBQ for the school soccer team, to managing a team at the local Relay for Life. Desley believes that you get out of life what you give it and that value comes from giving to others.
During her down-time, Desley loves to spend time with her family, we love a good games night at home, and playing cards. Never underestimate the value of a good dance-party, or the fun of dancing in the kitchen. Desley loves to bake yummy sweets for her family to enjoy. And let’s not forget Desley’s love of Rhino’s.

Desley embarked on her accounting career in 1999 in Emerald, Central Queensland, home of the beef cattle, grain, citrus and mining industries. During this period, she diligently served clients across various sectors, assuming roles in bookkeeping and addressing their tax compliance requirements.
In parallel, Desley also contributed to managing the financial, administrative, and reporting aspects of her husband's legal practice. Although she took a brief hiatus to focus on raising her children, she remained actively engaged in overseeing the legal practice's operations, a role she continues to fulfill to this day. This experience has bestowed upon her a deep comprehension of the intricacies associated with running a professional firm.
Since 2012, Desley has been an invaluable member of the HBA Encompass team, based on the Sunshine Coast. Her diverse roles encompass self-managed superannuation fund compliance, taxation, financial reporting, client administration, and team training. Throughout her tenure, she has played a pivotal role in shaping and optimizing systems and processes. Her leadership was further exemplified when she assumed the role of director in 2020, coinciding with the firm's expansion to include a second office in Gympie. Desley spent well over 10 years at HBA Encompass, before leaving to start her own practice.
Additionally, stemming from her family ties to the trade industry as the daughter and sister of tradies, Desley possesses a keen understanding of the regulatory obligations associated with the building sector.
